Today’s change in Allan’s role from ‘editor’ to ‘editor at large’ is like closing the door on a significant era with Forkliftaction.

It was in 2007 that Allan contacted us offering his editorial services. An expert in business journalism, he committed to apply his vast experience to streamline, improve and broaden our editorial processes. It did not take Allan long to get familiar with the materials handling industry. Leaning on his seasoned editorial skills, he effortlessly immersed himself into the industry, becoming acquainted with types of equipment, industry terminology, challenges, and the main players that carry the industry in the different parts of the world.

Allan’s involvement quickly grew and within a short time, he not only edited but also wrote most of Forkliftaction’s news stories. Always professional, inquisitive, and reliable.

Week after week, Allan published the Forkliftaction News editions with a discipline that never, ever!, failed. He set editorial guidelines that still today are the parameters of Forkliftaction’s news service. Our mission: bringing a weekly insight in the industry’s main news stories as they happen, while every now and then checking the pulse of the industry’s representatives on external events. Our news objective: independent, comprehensive, and reliable.

Allan more than delivered. Very quickly, the industry worldwide picked up the news service and developed an appreciation for its quality. Over the past 22 years, Forkliftaction News developed into an industry authority and it needs to be said that Allan’s contribution fashioned the very essence of this success. Allan’s industry reputation flourished.

In the past decade, Allan also attended major trade shows, with exhibitors very keen to meet with our editor, and Allan enjoying the face-to-face interviews. These tradeshow visits resulted in a series of in-depth feature articles summarising the market’s state of mind and the industry’s R&D focal points.

Today, Allan is ready to take a step back and entrust his editorial masterpiece to a successor. He does not do this half-heartedly. It is with full enthusiasm and confidence that Allan passes on the reins to fellow professional Barbara Adam, an experienced writer and editor.

Barbara describes herself as a talented storyteller with international experience writing and editing on many platforms. In the past weeks, Barbara has worked side-by-side with Allan, examining the editorial processes, picking up the unique characteristics of the materials handling industry, and getting to know the Forkliftaction team and our systems.

It is with immense pleasure and full confidence that we introduce you, our readers, to Barbara Adam who is fully committed to serve and bolster the editorial stronghold that is Forkliftaction News. We believe that Barbara will successfully continue Allan’s work and that she has the skills to uphold his reputation in our remarkable industry.

To get to know Barbara, read this week’s ‘Getting to Know Barbara Adam’ interview story.

This is not the time to say farewell to Allan though! Allan will remain connected with Forkliftaction as Editor at Large, assisting us and representing Forkliftaction on occasion, at events and conferences.

To see how Allan looks back to his time as Forkliftaction’s editor, look out for his blog next week!

We thank Allan Leibowitz for his loyal and momentous contribution to Forkliftaction.com, and we welcome Barbara Adam with open arms!

I know I can count on them. They give valuable suggestions on the campaign planning, and to publish content is as easy as abc, as they take care of the material layout and check links. This is a great support.

Undoubtedly, peer experience plays a crucially important role in our industry and it is extremely valuable for us to be part of the platform, where industry professionals, as well as end users can discuss and learn more about the materials handling world.

After advertising with Forkliftaction.com, we got many enquiries regarding interest to be our distributor. Mostly from Europe and USA but including a few in ASEAN. We feel that the advertisement was useful and good for market expansion.
