JCB wants to recruit 80 engineers
Rocester, United KingdomJCB has launched a high-profile recruitment drive for 80 engineers in the UK.
The vacancies for the company's sites in Staffordshire, Derbyshire and Wales have arisen as the company takes advantage of global market recovery.
JCB's CEO Alan Blake says the year has started "very strongly" and all the signs are pointing to continued growth throughout the year.
"We need to respond to that growth and strengthen our excellent team of engineers with new talent as demand for our machines increases."
Cooper SH drops Baumann
United KingdomCooper SH will focus on providing a dedicated service to ports and terminals and will no longer distribute Baumann sideloader products.
The Warwickshire-based company is the sole UK supplier of Konecranes trucks and in 2010 agreed to represent the Scandinavian firm's port equipment business in the UK and Ireland.
Cooper SH will continue to provide support for existing customers operating Baumann trucks.
Deutsche Messe's new subsidiary
Hannover, GermanyCeMAT organiser Deutsche Messe has established a subsidiary in Russia. OOO Deutsche Messe RUS is based in Moscow and sets the foundation for the company's expansion in Russia.
Andrej Gross, who has been handling Deutsche Messe's activities in Moscow since October 2010, is the managing director of the new subsidiary. Gross was Deutsche Messe's director of international sales operation. Deutsche Messe launched its first event in Russia, Industrial Trade Fair Moscow, in September 2010.
New guidelines by FEM
Brussels, BelgiumFEM's Industrial Trucks product group has published guidelines on compliance control for noise as part of a series of thematic guidelines to help identify non-compliant industrial trucks.
After exhaust emissions, noise is the second theme that the group is addressing.

TVA employees donate forklift to school
Chattanooga, TN, United StatesStudents in the engineering and vocational-focused academy at a co-educational Chattanooga public magnet school will benefit from a forklift truck that employees of a government entity donated.
The federally owned Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) of Knoxville, Tennessee contributed the forklift to the Howard School of Academics and Technology through the TVA's partner in education program. The TVA has contributed through the program for five years.
The school's welding program and other industrial education classes make use of the equipment.
The TVA deals with navigation, flood control, electricity generation, fertilizer manufacturing and economic development in the Tennessee Valley and has a service area covering most of Tennessee and parts of Alabama, Mississippi, Kentucky, Georgia, North Carolina and Virginia.
Kimberly-Clark buys into fuel-cell technology

For the project, Kimberly-Clark is collaborating with third-party logistics supplier Genco Supply Chain Solutions of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; GenDrive-brand fuel cell unit provider Plug Power Inc of Latham, New York; hydrogen-fuel supplier Air Products and Chemicals Inc of Allentown, Pennsylvania; and the non-profit Economic Development Partnership promoting projects in Aiken and Edgefield counties.
Air Products will establish a multi-use fueling station for industrial, government and commercial users and directly provide hydrogen to the Kimberly-Clark centre. Both the station and the 450,000 sqft (40,500 sqm) centre are located in the Sage Mill Industrial Park in Graniteville.
For its participation, Genco is using USD1.1 million of a total USD6.1 million cost-share award it received from the US Department of Energy through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. Genco estimates that use of hydrogen fuel cells in place of lead-acid batteries will reduce nearly 90% of the centre's greenhouse gas emissions every year.
Publicly traded Kimberly-Clark of Irving, Texas reported a profit of USD1.99 billion on 2009 sales of USD19.12 billion. The business was founded in 1872.
MHEDA convenes in Phoenix in 10 weeks
Vernon Hills, IL, United StatesThe Material Handling Equipment Distributors Association (MHEDA) plans 10 presentations, two panel discussions and an exhibitors' tabletop showcase among offerings during its 56th convention from 30 April-4 May in Phoenix, Arizona.
Richard Donnelly, MHEDA president-elect, heads the volunteer portion of the association's team organising the convention. Donnelly is executive vice president of Raleigh, North Carolina-based Gregory Poole Equipment Co, a Caterpillar dealer with 17 locations selling, renting and servicing equipment and covering the eastern areas of North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.
MHEDA is collocating with the 3-4 May IUV Technology Summit presented by Industrial Utility Vehicle & Mobile Equipment Magazine.
Convention registration for a MHEDA member is USD1,195 and for a non-member USD1,695.
