Flashback: John MacGregor and Mike Singer of Balgownie after the April acquisition

MacGregor Industrial Supplies (MIS) has been named as Bobcat’s new dealer for Scotland’s Highlands and Islands, Aberdeenshire and Perthshire regions, following MacGregor’s acquisition of the previous Bobcat dealer for the area, Balgownie.

MIS purchased the business and assets of Balgownie Ltd from administration in April 2024.

Balgownie had been selling and servicing Bobcat machinery in northern Scotland since 2016.

MIS was founded in 1985 and now boasts 17 divisions and six branches across Scotland’s north east, selling and leasing materials handling, aquaculture and forestry equipment.

John Chistofides, regional sales director for Bobcat EMEA, believes the new collaboration with MIS will be very positive for both companies in the North of Scotland.

“I am sure that the Bobcat brand will continue to prosper in the North of Scotland under the stewardship of MacGregor Industrial Supplies,” he says.

MIS managing director John MacGregor explains the acquisition of Balgownie means the company already has experienced staff with expertise of the Bobcat brand.

“Under the management of my colleagues, Douglas Fraser and Keith Bremner, I’m sure the Bobcat brand will be even more successful in Scotland,” MacGregor continues. “Our team’s extensive experience with Bobcat equipment, combined with our dedication to exceptional customer service, positions us to deliver even greater value to our Bobcat customers.”
