It’s a high-tech edition of Forkliftaction News this week, with reports of more robots being deployed and more automation systems being installed at facilities around the world.

Chinese automaker Dongfeng, French shipbuilder Chantiers de l'Atlantique and German organic vegetable processing company all added robots to their operations, while retailer REWE unveiled a new semi-automated plant.

However, the ongoing push towards automation, computerisation and digitalisation is not always rosy.

Every change carries risk, as Crown Equipment Corporation experienced this month.

The world's fourth biggest forklift maker fell victim to a cyberattack that took it offline and halted production for more than a week.

We’re happy to report Crown’s website is back online and we hope to update you further on the situation next week.
