As we flagged last week, Superstorm Sandy did, indeed, impact on forklift businesses along the US east coast. Hopefully, things are now returning to normal, and operators are able to get back to what they know best.
It's also evident that the materials handling industry is throwing its weight behind the recovery efforts, and as usual, the American Logistics Aid Network is spearheading the campaign. The charity is stressing that a co-ordinated effort is required and readers interested in helping out should follow the links in our story, rather than trying to go it alone.
As we have seen in other disasters, goodwill is not enough. Recovery programs need planning and leadership - and ALAN is already on the case.
