There was some good news out of the United States this week, with Bloomberg reporting recovery in a few leading industrial indicators including the Credit Managers' Manufacturing Index and the Institute for Supply Management's manufacturing index. According to the news service, the improvements should allay fears of a double-dip recession; but they will be even more encouraging for the forklift industry whose future is so closely linked with manufacturing activity. In fact, there are even expectations by some manufacturers that this will be their best season since 2007. Of course, it's still very volatile, with all eyes on Europe in an increasingly interdependent world.
