Each week Forkliftaction keeps you up-to-date on exactly what is happening in the global materials handling market. Here is a roundup of the latest developments in warehouse equipment and automation and robotic solutions, and the retailers deploying them.

In April 2023 –  Europe’s largest automated robotic parcel sorting system has been installed in Turkey by parcel distribution and postal services company, Kuryenet.

South Korean forklift manufacturer Doosan Industrial Vehicle (DIV) has joined forces with German industrial automation specialist Kollmorgen.

Chinese multi-robot orchestration software specialist CoEvolution Technology, has used the recent ProMAT show to launch in the North American smart logistics market.

Materials handling specialist Alstef Group has acquired Solution Net Systems (SNS), a USA-based provider of automated parcel handling systems and warehouse automation solutions. 

A new competitive ranking by global technology intelligence firm ABI Research has ranked the autonomous forklift solutions offered by 16 autonomous forklift suppliers. 

In March 2023 - Technology-enabled forklifts, AGVs and AMRs, smart attachments, wireless chargers – Forkliftaction reports on the latest materials handling product developments that were spotlighted by manufacturers at the recent ProMat in Chicago.

Asendia launches a new parcel delivery service, e-PAQ Select, for the Oceania market. The service will track and ship to major e-commerce destinations worldwide.

Big Joe Forklifts releases two new lithium forklifts. Both featuring 80 v AC drive systems powered by a 230 ah or 460 ah UL-recognised lithium battery, with an operating cost saving by over 50%.

Forkliftaction publishes a special feature report on the smart technologies and attachments (including AGV attachments) that allow customers to maintain their current footprint and storage layout while maximising materials handling productivity in the warehouse.

Hangcha launches the XE series of electric forklifts spanning 1.5-3.8 T and with battery capacity of up to 80 V/608 Ah. Key innovations in the line include permanent magnet synchronous technology and lithium-battery technology.

And via the industry blogs, the International Federation of Robotics analyses the top five trends shaping robotics and automation in 2023.

In February 2023 - AutoStore launches what is believed to be the first pay-per-pick service, designed to help retailers meet the growing need for more efficient warehouse operations and faster customer delivery.

Global furniture and homeware supplier Coach House implements an automated storage and retrieval system to dramatically increased its storage capacity and increase efficiency.

Electrovaya receives a battery purchase order through its OEM sales channel valued at approximately USD3.4 million. Electrovaya says the customer will be its 10th Fortune 100 company and fifth Fortune 100 retailer to operate its batteries.

Magazino secures an order from Dutch shoe retailer Schuurman Schoenen for its TORU mobile picking robot. The TORU can operate 24/7, and works autonomously with the help of 3D camera technology and numerous sensors.
