Konecranes equipment and services will support the Legnano Teknoelectric Company (LTC) Group’s materials flow at a new 30,000 sqm manufacturing plant in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

From incoming raw materials to finished products including transformers, Konecranes will support LTC Group with a 21-crane and service contract booked in the first quarter this year, with deliveries commencing in May.

Konecranes will supply 12 S-series and CXT electric overhead cranes and nine jib cranes.

It will also modernise an existing crane at the site to enhance functionality.

In addition, Konecranes will be responsible for the safe and optimised running of the cranes under a three-year annual maintenance contract, extending a business relationship with LTC Group which commenced in 2011.

Specialising in magnetic cores and laminations for a wide range of transformers and reactors, LTC Group continues to grow its renewable energy sector business, with the new facility set to double production capacity in the region, playing a prominent role in supplying transformers for wind power, photovoltaic, hydroelectric, cogeneration and biomass facilities.

“Our production line uses high quality materials and the manufacturing process needs both reliable and cutting-edge equipment,” says LTC Group Middle East FZCo managing director Mauro Mereghetti.

“Konecranes’ products and services meet those needs, which made it natural to choose them for this project.”

Konecranes director industrial cranes UAE Ajit Kumar says customers like LTC Group are increasingly asking for equipment and services that reliably and safely support their material flow with reduced carbon emissions.

“Our cranes do just that, delivering precise lifting while significantly cutting down on wear and tear,” says Kumar.
