JLG Industries has been honoured by the Defence Supply Centre Columbus (DSCC) as one of the centre's best suppliers at an automated best value system (ABVS) award ceremony last week.
The telehandler manufacturer accepted the supplier excellence silver award from the DSCC commander, Navy Rear Admiral Charlie Lilli, at the Hyatt Regency Columbus, in Columbus, Ohio.
Of 6,000 DSCC suppliers, only 140 received the award.
Companies that qualified as award winners met quality and delivery requirements established by the defence logistics agency.
The ABVS is a computerised system that collects vendors' past performance data and translates it into a numeric score, ranging from zero to 100. To be eligible, suppliers must have shipped 50 or more contract line items for DSCC over 12 months. Contractors must have a score of 99 to 99.9 out of 100 to qualify for the silver medal.
