Yantai Port is adding Kalmar Eco reachstackers

Kalmar has received an order for three Kalmar Eco reachstackers from Yantai Port in China. These are the first Eco reachstackers to be delivered by Kalmar to a customer in the North China region.

Globally, Kalmar has delivered over 450 Eco reachstackers to date.

The contract, which was concluded through Kalmar’s local dealer, Yantai Haotong Machinery Equipment Co. Ltd, also includes comprehensive training for maintenance technicians and equipment operators.

Yantai Port, located in the north of Shandong Peninsula, is an essential node of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road. Its main business includes passenger Ro-Ro logistics, container and pipeline transportation, liquefied petroleum products and bulk cargo.

Yantai Port has a well-developed hinterland economy, in which the export-oriented economy is growing rapidly. It boasts convenient road and railway transportation, superior capabilities of collection and distribution, and is directly connected with more than 100 ports in over 70 countries and regions.

Kalmar and Yantai Port have maintained a good working relationship since the 1990s. The existing fleet of Yantai Port consists of Kalmar products only, including reachstackers, empty container handlers, forklifts and top loaders.

The new Kalmar Eco Reachstackers will join the current fleet of over 20 machines on a lease solution to further enhance customers’ operational efficiency.

Wei Jianlu, general manager, Yantai Haotong Machinery Equipment Co. Ltd, says: "For more than 20 years, Yantai Port has been using Kalmar products. We are honoured to provide long-term service for our customers in Yantai Port and look forward to the excellent performance of the new Eco reachstackers."
