TYRI has never been a company that follows, it leads. Since the company’s conception in 2002 they have led the way in developing new technology and utilising the very best expertise and knowledge to deliver cutting edge design and functionality. Today, our Research and Development department is based in Sweden, with additional design engineers based in the USA and manufacturing headquarters in the UK as well as the USA and Sweden and a network of sales offices around the world. TYRI is best placed to deliver industry leading work light solutions for future demands.

TYRI’s latest innovation is INTELLilight - an intelligent lighting system that opens new possibilities for both users and installers and utilises a digital platform that enables the system to function. This platform is very complex and relatively new, and so requires the very best experts in the world to ensure its continued success.

This lighting system of the future has been received by the market with open arms. No switches in the cab, no cables, no predefined groups of lighting. For the user, the possibility of dimming the lights and changing the light temperature will offer clear advantages.

INTELLilight is developed to create a flexible lighting solution that adapts to the driver's needs and external circumstances (such as dust and snow). The system can easily change brightness and colour temperature for optimal lighting. In addition, without a single extra cable, you can group and regroup your lights. A completely flexible lighting solution that can be controlled with the help of sensors in combination with a remote control or an app.

“Like many other industries, we’ve had to think beyond our proprietary hardware; it is not only the hardware that needs to be developed to tackle tomorrow’s challenges. It is the system encompassing the lights that can create intelligent lighting. Since this is not currently available, TYRI has used its experience and technical knowledge to create its own unique system. We had to develop our own software from scratch to obtain a general communication platform for our lighting and so our app which is cutting edge in design and functionality. Vehicle operators can now easily zone and rezone lighting around the vehicle by means of the app,” says Christian Wadell, TYRI Global R&D Director.

To do this, TYRI realised we needed help, so we turned to The Techno Creatives. Christian explains, “We are experts in lighting and lighting systems. When we decided to bring the Internet of Things into INTELLilight and control the system via an app, we first thought we could do it ourselves. However, we realized quite early on that it is an extremely complex and difficult process to develop an app that does what we want, to be able to control all lighting and at the same time be very easy to use and understand. In our frustration we encountered The Techno Creatives and after conversations with them, we understood that it would be impossible for us to solve this ourselves. This resulted in a joint venture where we will together develop the world's most user-friendly solution for lighting systems. To make it a little challenging, we will also do it in record time so that our customers can enjoy the benefits that INTELLilight can offer as soon as possible.”

The Techno Creatives are a consulting firm with expertise in the development of digital services, products and even companies. Their specialists in software, hardware, design and strategy are never hired out, but everyone sits in the office in Gothenburg and in small teams they solve customers' challenges. Part of the business model is to also enter various joint ventures. This business model requires a much greater commitment to all components of the system, and a constant focus on balancing customer value with the commercial. TYRI was such an assignment that fit well into that model. A very complex and difficult task that triggered Techno to take on the challenge of doing better than everyone else has done before.

“This assignment is really a challenge; the time aspect is tricky and solving the technical challenges requires us to we think far beyond the ordinary patterns. We are very targeted and work hard to fulfil the wishes that exist for the system and with TYRI's expertise in lighting and lighting systems for work machines, we become an extremely strong team. This collaboration is a challenge for all of us and that is when we have the chance to create something really good,” says Martin Persson, Lead Strategy at The Techno Creatives.

“The foundation of INTELLilight is being able to connect all lights in a closed network via Bluetooth. This means you get all the functions without additional cables, ensuring it is easy to install, even for existing vehicles. For a new machine design, INTELLilight enables you to simplify the vehicle’s electrical system significantly.

All lighting can then be managed through the app. The app allows you to zone, rezone, and isolate the lights depending on the work situation, and all information and settings are saved to the user. If a vehicle has multiple operators, the lighting adapts to the person logging in, which means the correct settings are always in place for each operator.

INTELLilight improves the entire work environment for operators. You get personalised lighting that acts according to each unique situation. A radio-controlled system with an On/Off function also allows the lights to be switched on and off from a distance for increased safety.” concludes Christian.

Soon users will be able to try the system online via an interactive platform on TYRI’s website – www.tyrilights.com.

Fact of the week
Brothers Adolf ("Adi") and Rudolf ("Rudi") Dassler split their shoe company after WWII due to a bitter feud, and established the rival companies of Adidas and Puma. Their personal animosity and business rivalry divided their German hometown Herzogenaurach. The town became known as "the town of bent necks" due to the intense loyalty to each brand.
