Durwen recognised for voluntary commitment
Plaidt, Germany

The joint project of Durwen and the fire department of Plaidt has been awarded with a first prize in the German national Helping Hand contest. The project was selected out of 215 applications in the volunteering accolades.
In a pilot project, Durwen employees supported the local fire department of Plaidt in their rescue missions, helping where they were needed the most.
Since a first meeting in 2016, employees have held training sessions every month, ensuring preparedness in the case of emergencies.
Besides the trophy, the initiative has also attracted strong interest from representatives of national emergency services.

STILL wins John Deere Partner Award
Hamburg, Germany

STILL was recently honoured with the John Deere Partner Award. A panel, made up of representatives from different John Deere plants throughout Europe, evaluated STILL's performance in categories such as quality, supplier reliability, technical support and cost management.
STILL is the primary supplier for the agricultural machinery manufacturer in Europe, whose fleet consists of roughly 650 STILL trucks, with tugger trains and warehouse trucks being the most popular product.
"We're really excited about receiving the award. John Deere is a company which we've been associated with for decades. Our successful partnership can now be strengthened even further," says Philip Eckmann, international key account manager at STILL.

UKWA pledges to raise £75,000 for Transaid
London, United Kingdom

At its recent annual conference, the United Kingdom Warehousing Association (UKWA) announced that it will mark its 75th anniversary - which it is celebrating throughout 2019 - by raising GBP75,000 (USD100,000) for industry charity Transaid.
Transaid's work includes the MAMaZ Against Malaria (MAM) program which works to tackle severe malaria in Zambia by improving drug supply chains and access to health facilities.
UKWA CEO Peter Ward says: "The money raised by UKWA will help reduce depressing mortality rates from malaria by funding development of the country's supply chain and logistics infrastructure to reach remote communities and deliver effective treatment and vital medicines.
"UKWA adopted Transaid as its official charity in 2013 and since then, our members have raised significant funds in support of various key Transaid projects. Transaid is the logistics industry's charity, so our two organisations are a perfect fit."
