New factory on track for early 2017 opening
Since Combilift's announcement a year ago of its €40 million investment in a new 46,000m² manufacturing facility and global HQ in Monaghan, construction work has got underway and the company is on course to have the new facility up and running by early 2017.

The 40 hectare site will include a dedicated Research and Development building and adjoining administrational offices and will be more than double the size of both of the company's present manufacturing facilities. This expansion will enable Combilift to proceed with its plan to double its current €150 million turnover in the next five years. 200 new jobs will be created for skilled technicians and design engineers and a further 200 jobs will also be created during the build phase.

Over head view of new head quarters
Combilift is acknowledged as the global leader in the long load handling market and since it launched the world's first i.c. engine powered, all-wheel drive multidirectional forklift onto the market in 1998 its range now encompasses 4-way forklifts, Aisle-Master articulated trucks and other innovative material handling solutions such as the Combilift Straddle Carrier.

Established and headed up by Managing Director Martin McVicar and Technical Director Robert Moffett, Combilift has produced in excess of 28,000 units which are exported to more than 75 countries.

Come and meet us

As befits Combilift's global reach, the company will be showing its wide range of products at numerous events around the world in 2016 and would welcome the chance to meet readers of Forkliftaction to its exhibition stands. Come and meet the team, enjoy a Guinness and, at the larger shows, watch the Combi-CB display team in action with its dancing forklifts.

It's a busy year in Europe with participation at LogiMAT in Stuttgart in a few weeks' time, Bauma in Munich in April, CeMAT in Hanover in May and IMHX in Birmingham in September to name just a few. Fabtech in Chicago, Precast in Tennessee and NASCC in Florida are on the agenda for the USA.

Combilift's Straddle Carrier will be the focal point, and no doubt talking point, of exhibits on show at the ITTES (Truck Show) in Melbourne, at the IAA in Germany and at TOC in Mexico as well as at other events throughout the year.
