World Class 4-way Handling Solutions With the ongoing addition of more models to its range, Combilift continues to blaze the trail in the 4-way and narrow aisle handling sector. There are now over 14,500 units in operation worldwide, with an extensive global dealership network across more than 50 countries. “Our ability to react to customer feedback and develop handling solutions of any size is what sets us apart from other forklift manufacturers” comments MD Martin McVicar. “Since we launched our first C4000 Combilift - which is incidentally still one of our best sellers – we now offer models from 2.5t upwards with an almost infinite choice of options for a truly customised product. Our range encompasses 4-way sideloaders, the compact counterbalance design Combi-CB, stand-on models for extremely narrow aisle operation, the large cab XL series as well as the core Combilift C range in varying load capacities.”
Combilifts are the solution for the handling of long and potentially awkward and hazardous loads in a variety of industry sectors. They replace a combination of other forklift types such as conventional counterbalance or sideloader models. Versatility, reliability, safer and space saving handling are hallmarks of the Combilift range, which contributes to improved productivity and efficiency. Diesel, LP Gas and AC electric power options are available, and Combilift also supplies a range of attachments according to individual operational requirements.
New Straddle Carrier The Combilift Straddle Carrier is a very cost effective solution for the handling of containers and other similar oversized loads for haulage, distribution and shipping operations even with relatively low throughput levels. MD Martin McVicar explains the rationale behind the new product: “We saw a gap in the market for an economical, very light but nevertheless extremely stable alternative to container handling forklifts, reach stackers or mobile cranes. This latest addition to our range offers customers complete independence when it comes to moving products around a site. Savings made by not having to hire other equipment make for a very quick return on the initial capital investment. The steel and manufacturing sectors are also recognising the benefits that the straddle carrier can bring to their operations.” The standard Combilift straddle carrier is a three-wheel patented design model, with a 35t capacity, with much lower ground pressure per wheel than reach stackers even when loaded to full capacity.
Combi-RT The Combi-RT, launched earlier this year, is a purpose-built, no compromise machine which enables significant improvements in the handling of live poultry. The truck has large diameter tractor tyres, all-wheel drive, 300 mm ground clearance and a small turning radius – all of which contribute to reduced disturbance of litter. The truck is fitted with a low profile, clear view, three-stage mast. Overall it is gentler and quieter than previous equipment, resulting in reduced stress levels for the poultry and cleaner, speedier operations overall.Engineered with the customer in mind Combilift invests heavily in its research and development facility at the company HQ in Monaghan, Ireland, and has on average introduced at least one new model per year since the company was established – there are now around 18 base models available. Customer feedback continues to play an important role in ongoing product development, together with Combilift’s policy of providing customised solutions.
