UniCarriers Americas Corporation shared insights into the benefits of its acquisition by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries with dealers at its recent dealer meeting.
Themed "A Powerful Partnership", company officials and dealer representatives explored the past, present and future of their partnership, and the opportunities to be created by the company's pending acquisition by MHI
(FLA #730).
The one-and-a-half-day Las Vegas conference drew more than 200 dealer principals and general managers from Canada to Argentina, and covered all aspects of business operations including sales and marketing, product development, manufacturing and aftermarket parts and service.
Attendees heard from Akira 'Alex' Shiki, president and COO of Tokyo-based UniCarriers Corporation, who explained the state of UniCarriers' global business and the planned investment and strategic initiatives moving forward in partnership with MHI.
Economist Dr. Stephen Miller, professor at the University of Nevada, provided insight into the future economic environment in which UniCarriers and dealer partners will operate.
UniCarriers Americas president Anthony Salgado articulated the vision for UniCarriers' future - a company committed to increasing the value it delivers to customers, dealers and shareholders through continuing improvement in all facets of the business. He explained that by expanding and improving product offerings, strengthening sales support and continuing operational excellence, UniCarriers Americas would provide a remarkable experience for both its partners and end-users.
Dealers got a glimpse of that vision with a first look at the company's new light-duty walkie pallet truck, the UniCarriers WLX, a 4,500 lb. (2,000 kg) AC-powered lift truck which is claimed to have the tightest turning radius and the highest raised fork height in the industry.
"It was an outstanding and timely event," says Steve Cianci, vice president of sales and marketing, UniCarriers Americas. "Many dealers expressed their excitement and confidence in our partnership moving forward."
"UniCarriers Americas' aggressive go-to-market strategy is impressive," adds Tony Sessa, president of CFE Equipment, an award-winning UniCarriers Americas dealership located in Norfolk, Virginia. "And coupled with the changes expected with the MHI merger, I am even more confident about the future. The meeting was an informative and valuable experience."
