Production capacity at the Järvenpää plant is about 40% higher than the company's old plant in Vantaa.

Bolzoni Group's Finnish subsidiary, Auramo Oy, has moved to new headquarters that are larger and more modern, 40 km (25 mi.) north of Helsinki.

The headquarters in the industrial area of Järvenpää are located 2 km (1.2 mi.) from a main highway, 40 km (25 mi.) from Helsinki Port and 25 km (15.5 mi.) from Helsinki Airport.

Bolzoni spokeswoman Paola Baldini tells Forkliftaction.com News the new factory is "about 20% bigger in size, applies [a] modern production method and uses new machineries including plasma cutting, welding robots and CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machining".

The plant follows a lean manufacturing method based on the pull system and the company is focused on the efficient use of resources and obtaining the best quality, productivity and lead times.

Baldini says about 100 people work at the new Auramo Oy plant, which has boosted its production capacity by 40% (compared to the old plant in Vantaa). "With better efficiency of new machines, we do not need to increase the workforce at the moment."

The factory that is built on 5,500 sqm (59,202 sqft.) of land is dedicated to producing forklift attachments like paper roll clamps, pulp clamps and waste paper clamps.

"Over the years, Auramo Oy has developed a special philosophy for the paper-handling cycle, with solutions for every phase from production to end-user," says Auramo Oy president Lars Petersson.

Auramo Oy was established in 1947 by Hannu Auramo as an engineering agency offering construction design and qualified technical supervision. It also manufactured industrial cylinders and developed solutions for warehouse floor materials. When the forest and paper industry became a focused applications field in Finland in the 1960s, Auramo started manufacturing paper roll clamps, bale clamps and other specialised handling attachments.
