Two Minnesota businesses - an auxiliary equipment maker and a manufacturing job shop - have merged and established a new 12,000 sqft. (1,115 sqm) location now being outfitted in Hutchinson.

The new entity, Redline Systems Inc, brings together Matt Cheney's Redline Manufacturing LLC, previously 33 mi. (53 km) away in Kimball, and Tony Ashwill's Ashwill Industries Inc, previously in another Hutchinson building.

"Most of the equipment is in there," says Cheney, who established his business in 2010. "Some is hooked up, and some isn't."

Cheney focuses on creating attachments for forklifts and skid steers, do-it-yourself kits and custom-designed products. His current product line includes telehandler rotating sling carriages and jib cranes, pallet forks, walk-through pallet forks, single and double utility fork grapples and safety work platforms. Cheney has more than 10 years' experience in the heavy equipment manufacturing industry.

Ashwill's operational capabilities include waterjet cutting machines.

Redline focuses on a five-state area for the majority of its business.

Redline Systems has ordered a computer numerical controlled (CNC) plasma cutting machine from Retro Systems of Valley Center, Kansas for delivery by the end of October.
