Weidemann Ireland has added four new models to its range of wheel loaders and telehandlers and is showcasing them at roadshow events around Ireland.

Roadshows were held in Northern Ireland this week and more will be held next week in the Republic of Ireland.

On display is the T4108, a new telehandler with a lifting height of 4.1 m (13.5 ft.) and capacity of 0.8 T. It comes with a hydrostatic drive and its top speed is 20 km/h (12.4 mph.). The T5522, another new telehandler, also at the roadshows, has a lifting height of 5.5 m (18 ft.) and a 2.2 T capacity. It also has a hydrostatic drive and a top speed of 20 km/h 1(2.4 mph.), with option of 30 km/h (18.6 mph.).

As with all Weidemann telehandlers, the new models come with its Vertical Lift System, which means that loads remain at a constant distance from the machine when raising or lowering the boom.

The Weidemann 4080T and 5080T loaders are also showcased at the events, and come in wheel loader or tele-wheel loader options.

According to Weidemann Germany, Ireland was the fastest-growing market in 2013 for machinery sales.

In 2014, things have got off to a good start, with Weidemann Ireland having sold four times as many machines in the first six months as in the same period in 2013.

According to DVLA figures (the DVLA is an executive agency of the Department for Transport) for 2014, Weidemann machine sales are the third-highest in Ireland and second-highest in the first quarter in Northern Ireland, compared to their competitors, many of which have been on the Irish market for over 50 years.

Established in 1960 as Maschinenfabrik Weidemann KG, Weidemann manufactures wheel loaders and telehandlers at its plant in Korbach, Germany. It invented the Hoftrac, a compact wheel loader in 1972. In 2005, Weidemann was acquired by Wacker Construction Equipment AG.
