Sam's Mechanical Service sells TCM forklifts in Pennsylvania. |
Sam's Mechanical Service LLC focuses on providing forklift and tow motor maintenance and representing the TCM brand, primarily in Lancaster and Chester counties in Pennsylvania.
With experience as a machinery maintenance and repair mechanic, owner Sam Stoltzfus started the operation in Gordonville, Pennsylvania, in 1996 and moved the business about 8 mi. (12.8 km) to Narvon in 1998.
The limited liability company employs four technicians in its 16,000 sqft. (1,486 sqm) shop and two other techs with fully stocked vans for on-site maintenance duties and other on-the-road services, including tyre press and hydraulic hose replacement.
"We service all other makes and models of forklifts, including pneumatic, cushion tyre, rough terrain and electric," Stoltzfus says.
As needed, the business offers customers periodic maintenance services, maintenance service plans and forklift rentals.
Stoltzfus became an authorised TCM dealer in 2005, has TCM factory-trained staff members and now deals with new equipment labelled "TCM by UniCarriers" rather than TCM. UniCarriers Americas Corp, of Marengo, Illinois, oversees merging the TCM, Nissan and Barrett forklift brands in North, Central and South America.
Stoltzfus says the body style of incoming new equipment "has changed a little bit". "I have seen some improvement."
About five years ago, Sam's Mechanical added services for maintaining skid-steer loaders, aerial lift platforms and, from Pettibone Traverse Lift LLC and others, heavy-duty materials-handling equipment.
