The Gold Standard label ensures that environmental projects are "truly effective and contribute to local sustainability initiatives that make a real difference". UKWA names Transaid as charity partnerLondon, United KingdomThe United Kingdom Warehousing Association (UKWA) has adopted Transaid as its official charity. Transaid works to save lives and reduce poverty for rural African communities by providing them with better transport solutions.As part of its fund-raising initiatives for the charity, UKWA hopes to field teams in upcoming Transaid fundraising events - including cycle rides from London to Amsterdam and through Uganda. The UKWA is also encouraging its member companies to contribute directly towards Transaid's work by providing volunteers to take part in technical secondments overseas.Subsidiary celebrates 20 yearsHamburg, GermanyThe Czech national subsidiary of STILL GmbH celebrated its 20th anniversary with over 350 guests at its head office in Prague this month.The company has grown from 10 staff in 1991 to 143 employees today. In 2000, it opened a sales and service centre in the Hostivař district of Prague, and experienced increased truck sales. Branislav Timko, Managing Director of STILL Czech Republic, says: "We have collaborated successfully with more than 2,000 large and small companies from all sectors of industry during our 20 years of existence."
