BMB Removals required a reach truck to move storage boxes in a warehouse. |
As highlighted in
Forkliftaction.com News' recent article, the Internet is a rich source of information for customers looking for a forklift, and this includes used trucks
(Forkliftaction.com News #631).
Jason Burrows from Northampton-based removal company BMB Removals says he spent a lot of time looking at used and refurbished forklifts on different websites before contacting Linde Material Handling (UK) for professional guidance.
Before contacting Linde UK directly, he looked at refurbished Linde machines and other brands on web-trade companies.
"I only required a truck for very limited use, so a used machine made sense. The price I paid was competitive and, (because) I have purchased from a reputable company, I get great back-up and peace of mind," Burrows says.
BMB Removals, which provides removal and storage services for domestic and commercial customers, required a reach truck in a very low utilisation application, moving storage boxes in a warehouse.
Emma Clitheroe, marketing executive at Basingstoke-based Linde UK, tells
Forkliftaction.com News that the Internet is "key" for raising customer awareness of its products and services.
While she acknowledges that the web can be the first step on a user's journey to finding a forklift, Clitheroe adds that "it is most important that we meet to assess customers needs and view the application in question to ensure the correct truck is specified.
"Jason didn't contact us after looking at our site. He knew the brand and contacted us via telephone and arranged for us to visit and discuss what we can offer."
Linde refurbished trucks are typically ex-contract hire and have been maintained from new by the company's 23 regional customer support centres. The company claims it is the largest supplier of short-term hire trucks in the UK, based on Internet data
