Trelleborg Wheel Systems has acquired the industrial tyre business of Dutch company Industriebanden Beheer BV. The acquisition price is confidential.
"The acquisition gives us the opportunity to expand our successful industrial tyre service concept while also allowing us to grow in the areas of service and distribution in Europe," says Maurizio Vischi, business area president of Trelleborg Wheel Systems.
Vischi adds that the acquired business will strengthen his company's entire supply chain from manufacturing to the service of industrial tyres.
"The acquired business commands a strong position in the market and has a favourable profitability record," he says.
The acquired business has its head office in Ridderkerk, the Netherlands, and mainly serves the Dutch market. Annual sales in 2012 are estimated at about SEK50 million (USD7.9 million).
The acquisition is part of Trelleborg's strategy to strengthen its positions in "attractive and profitable market segments".
The Trelleborg Group has annual sales of about SEK22 billion (USD3.5 billion) with about 15,500 employees in over 40 countries.
