Optimum visibility on all operating levels - the new MEYER Generation G Pallet Handler. |
Quantum leap in pallet logistics - the closed Shaft Guiding SystemThe secret of completely successful innovationNot many companies are able to maintain or even extend an innovative lead successfully over many years. That
MEYER GmbH is indeed one of these companies indicates amongst other things the developments in the field of multi-pallet handlers.
The positioning system for forks presented in 1993 already anticipated future trends in forklift and pallet logistics: based on this novel shaft positioning concept it became possible, for the first time, to combine optimal visibility, simple and safe operation, low life-cycle costs and great reliability.
MEYER offers a unique concept in the form of
Automatic Continuous Lubrication System integrated with the guide system of the attachment. Lubrication intervals intervals that are extended and adapted to match the service intervals of the forklift truck make these attachments ideal for fleet and full-service applications. These are features that are required in day-to-day service more than ever before by a modern logistics process. The idea formulated by the engineers from Salzgitter to use hard chromed precision shafts in combination with enclosed high performance bushings instead of open profile guides provides convincing advantages that only a closed shaft guide system can offer.
Safe, fast, economic and reliable - that's why Anheuser Busch InBev in Bremen only operate with MEYER Pallet Handlers. |

Continuity is a prerequisite for innovation leadership - and with the
new Generation G multi-pallet handlers in 2015, MEYER introduced a series of 2/1 and 3/2/1 pallet handlers that were once again improved in detail. In addition to a definite reduction of the deadweight, it was also possible to improve visibility. Further development of the patented continuous lubrication system minimises the required components and also functions with conventional lubricants, for further reduced operating costs.
The advantages of the encapsulated Shaft Guide System:Clear vision and optimal operating safety"It is not so easy to drive quickly but at the same time safely with three pallets full of Beck's cases placed next to each other and then right away hit the optimum spot on the load bed of a lorry. When doing this, having optimal vision at various working levels is very important to me: the 3/2/1 pallet handler by MEYER offers me the best view.
The rapid operating speed and the very good synchronisation of the pallet handlers are exceptional advantages for me in my daily work. In this way I manage to load lorries quickly and easily, even in the case of tight packing in narrow gaps, as the pallet handlers maintain the best synchronisation even at very slow excursions of the hydraulic system. Only in this way can we achieve the high turnover rates required today in a really safe manner. This also has to do with the outer pallets being inwardly supported, as the pallet handlers do not sag under full load, even after any years of service. This allows high cornering speeds. In short - I'm quick and I always feel safe as well".Ali Risa Ceylan, 39, forklift driver at Anheuser-Busch InBev, Bremen Customer complaints about dirt on beverage containers? An unknown issue with the MEYER Shaft Guide System. |
Efficiency and reliability"Naturally, I'm glad that our drivers are happier with the MEYER accessories in their daily work than with others. But in addition to the greater safety and simpler handling that enable our enormous turnaround rates, I'm also interested in factors that are not noticed at first glance.
For example, the greatest possible cleanliness as the best possible prevention against customer complaints due to soiled goods, or the low energy consumption, which reduces the need for recharging cycles and so extends the running time. Equally important are robustness and ease of maintenance, which are precisely the requirements for greater availability. The Automatic Continuous Lubrication is also helpful, as an entire step falls away.
And last but not least, we are also impressed by the extremely prompt client service and the great willingness to implement our special requests in a manner that matches our logistic processes."Helmut Schumacher, 54, Logistics manager - at Anheuser-Busch InBev, BremenSecurity of investment and cost transparency"To be able to cover all our requirements, we always have to keep costs in mind when carrying out our needs assessment, so it is often said that we only pay attention to the price. That's true - but not in terms of the purchase price alone. Nowadays, more than ever before, we assess the total costs in relation to the lifecycle of a product - and in terms of our internal total cost of ownership MEYER multi-pallet handlers simply slot into the top spot in the industry. In addition, we have assessed the high level of transparency and simple calculability of service and maintenance costs very positively.
Our logistics department swears by MEYER because at times of peak demand they always support us from their comprehensive and affordable rental pool - thus bridging seasonal peaks in a flexible fashion - and they have even adapted the pool to our requirements. That enables me to plan the size of our fleet optimally according to our typical utilisation - and not to be left high and dry at peak times.
In a detailed comparison of all the requirement profiles of drivers, logistics and fleet management we have long sought alternatives, but have never found anything adequate. For us, MEYER sets all the benchmarks and always remains a good choice."Marcus Pieprzyk, 46 - FLT Fleet Manager/Logistics, Work safety specialist at Anheuser-Busch InBev, BremenPlease contact:
