Marta Pires and Hipólito Pires (GHP Group), Luis Angel Salas Manrique (LoxamHune) and Gérard Déprez (Loxam)European equipment hirer Loxam has acquired HR – Aluguer de Equipamentos from Group GHP Investimentos.
Established in 1990, HR is a leading general equipment rental player in Portugal, where it operates three branches and employs approximately 40 people.
Through the acquisition, LoxamHune, a wholly owned subsidiary of Loxam overseeing its activities in Iberia, will consolidate its presence on the Portuguese equipment rental market. The acquisition completes LoxamHune’s existing network in the southern part of the country, and provides a nationwide coverage through a consolidated network of six branches.
Hipólito Mendes Pires, chairman of GHP Group, says: “I consider it is an advantage for HR Equipamentos to be acquired by the Loxam Group, one of the leading equipment rental companies in the world, which will allow it to continue its growth path.”
Luis Angel Salas Manrique, CEO of LoxamHune, believes the branch locations and competence of the team “make a very good fit to our existing operations”.
Gérard Déprez, president of Loxam, says: “HR is a long-established player in Portugal, recognised for its technical expertise and operational excellence. I am always delighted to welcome skilled and experienced teams into the Loxam group. This acquisition demonstrates Loxam’s commitment to grow further in Portugal.”
