LGH launches Australian HQManchester-headquartered LGH (formerly Lifting Gear Hire) has expanded its geographic footprint with the opening of an office on the Central Coast of NSW.
LGH offers a wide range of rental equipment for the materials handling and lifting sectors with the new Australian office initially focusing on NSW before it offers a nationwide service.
Founded in Manchester in 1970 to provide custom rental solutions for the lifting sectors across the UK, LGH expanded into North America opening a site in Illinois in 1990 and in 2024, opened its 24th warehouse in North America.
LGH now operates more than 30 depots across the United Kingdom, the US, the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, and Scotland.
“At LGH, we are active in almost every practical market sector where heavy loads need to be transported within Europe and North America,” the company states.
LGH Group chairman Ian Parkinson says the move into Australia is the “biggest step LGH has taken” since opening its Chicago site 35 years ago.
“LGH has always focussed on growth and expansion, which is an important component of our current and future success,” Parkinson states. “The international territories we operate in are places with strong industrial activity, where health and safety is highly regulated, so Australia is a natural target for future activity.
“Not only is the economy growing, but investment in the country's infrastructure, manufacturing, construction and defence sectors remains robust and we believe we can play our part in helping these dynamic sectors thrive.”
