Equipment manufacturer Konecranes has reported 2011 sales worth EUR1.896 billion (USD2.488 billion), growing 22.6% from the previous year's EUR1.546 billion (USD2.028 billion).
Operating profit before restructuring costs was EUR117.2 million (USD153.8 million), compared to EUR115.1 million (USD151 million) the previous year. Restructuring costs accounted for EUR10.3 million (USD13.5 million).
The company says forecasting demand continues to be challenging due to macroeconomic uncertainties.
"Based on the current offer base, the demand outlook is stable. However, due to the timing of large port crane projects, the quarterly equipment order intake may fluctuate.
"Based on the order book, we forecast 2012 sales and operating profit to be higher than in 2011."
