There's nothing like a reality check to start the year. And that's what we got from the International Monetary Fund, which this week downgraded its forecasts for global economic growth.
In its updated World Economic Outlook, the body is tipping the global economy to grow by 3.5% in the year ahead.
That's 0.3% down from the last prediction in October, but it is certainly higher than the actual growth achieved last year.
So, better, but not yet great!
