ITA executive director William J. Montwieler leaves big shoes to fill when he departs from the office at the end of the year. Colleagues cite the OSHA's adoption of new regulations on operator training as the crowning achievement of his tenure. Montwieler, of course, doesn't take credit for the safety improvements, instead sharing the glory with all ITA members. The industry has changed significantly in the quarter of a century under Montwieler's watch, and will no doubt continue to do so under the guidance of Brian Feehan, whose leadership starts on January 1st, 2012.
