Donald Trump signs executive orders

It is both hard to ignore, or fully understand, what the impact of a second Donald Trump presidency will mean for the US and international materials handling sectors - but we do know changes are coming.

On the first day of his second term, Trump reversed the "electric vehicle mandate” and imposed 25% tariffs on imports from Canada and Mexico. He has promised more are to come (see this week’s story).

Still in the US, executive director with the American Logistics Aid Network (ALAN) Kathy Fulton, reports the outpouring of donations for those impacted by the California wildfires is causing a new set of problems with many aid organisations reporting they are “overwhelmed”.

Fulton says with more than 80% of disaster relief costs being related to logistics, what is desperately needed now is logistical support - time, manpower and equipment - to sort and distribute the donations. If you can help, register here to get involved.
