Major producer transitioning to hydrogen power
Major producer transitioning to hydrogen power

Even the writers of the best futuristic science fiction couldn’t have predicted some of the technological advances our sector is facing, with some of the stories in this week’s Forkliftaction News showing the industry is certainly evolving at a rapid pace.

Read about a 200m-long electric charging road where electric vehicles can charge as they move, as well as plans to build a 2km-long hydrogen pipeline feeding six decentralised filling stations at a major forklift producer’s manufacturing plant to support the transition of its forklift fleet to hydrogen-power.

Driving many of the technological advances being developed are the search for cost-savings and for greater efficiency, along with the greening of forklift fleets in line with environmental legislation and an appetite for eco-friendly fuel sources from consumers.

It is little surprise then that one forecast has the global electric forklift market growing at faster than 10% annually for the next decade (see story).
