This week we bring news of big industry players expanding their companies with cross-border acquisitions and investments.

The biggest deal making news is Oshkosh taking over Spanish equipment manufacturer Ausa to expand its Access segment.

Volvo CE is also spending a fair amount to bolster its service offering by investing in an American fleet software developer, while Japanese shipping giant Mitsui OSK Lines is involved in a new cold storage warehouse project in Singapore.

And in other news, a court case in the United Kingdom has highlighted the fact that innovation should not trump safety in the workplace.
