This week's call for award nominations highlights the contribution of the 'lifting' segment of the materials handling sector.
While a large part of our focus is on forklifts and horizontal transport, lifting is clearly a crucial part of moving materials and the Lifting Equipment Engineers Association plays an important role representing those who work in every aspect of the industry, from design, manufacture, refurbishment and repair, through to the hire, maintenance and operation of lifting equipment.
The awards, now in their fifth year, recognise these achievers, but the LEEA should itself be acknowledged for its contribution over the past 75 years - and its impact on training, standards setting, and examination and licensing systems.
