It seems supply chain challenges are big news at the moment. At the consumer level, media around the world are reporting on the fast food crisis in the UK, as truck driver shortages have led to dwindling supplies of milkshake ingredients at McDonald's and chicken shortages at KFC and Nandos.
But more worrying for the industrial sector is the shutdown of one of China's busiest major container terminals, the Port of Ningbo-Zhoushan. The harbour was closed due to a single COVID-19 case, and it's expected to be out of action until the end of the month.
With global shipping already under pressure, there is now even more cause for concern on the Asia-Europe and trans-Pacific routes.
