Product development tailored to the user's needs is the key to HMI design and thus to successful products. With the presentation of the fingertip-controlled armrest BRAVA, FREI has proved its advanced knowledge in the design and manufacture of bespoke HMIs.

The multifunctional armrest based on a unique modular design takes all ergonomic aspects into consideration to overcome physical fatigue of the truck driver. The armrest functions are designed for harsh ambient conditions using non-contacting Hall-effect sensors.

FREI's multifunctional armrest is available in different configurations, allowing it to be used in forklift trucks, construction machinery and agricultural machinery. The armrest's concept consists of a control pad with fingertip or dual joystick control, optional arm support as well as an optional height adjustment unit. Hence, the multifunctional armrest offers great flexibility for a huge variety of applications. The BRAVA multifunctional armrest manufactured by Gebrüder Frei has just won the "Red Dot" award for its outstanding design quality.

"FREI carries out the engineering tasks such as mechanical design, electronic hardware and software development in-house. We are convinced that this is the only way to develop an optimum product and to provide support during its entire product cycle", stated Jürgen Schwarz, head of the Control Systems division at FREI.

These releases in Forkliftaction are a nice experience for SNDC... We got seven inquiries coming from Canada, USA, Mexico, Israel and Australia (five from retailers, two from machines manufacturers) and we are still in contact with them. I can state that's a success story!
