WERC 2021 colocates with ProMat
Chicago, IL, United StatesWERC's 2021 annual conference will be co-located with ProMat, the US materials handling industry event.
The two events will take place on April 12-15, 2021 in Chicago, Illinois.
ProMat will be held, as usual, in the McCormick Place Convention Center, the largest facility of its kind in North America. The WERC (Warehousing Education and Research Council) Annual Conference will take place in the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place Conference Center, a separate, smaller area seamlessly connected to the convention centre.
According to organisers, the annual WERC conference will provide "an unrivalled opportunity for experienced professionals to share their hard-won expertise with one another".
Manufacturing Day draws 2,000
Greene, NY, United StatesThe Raymond Corporation observed National Manufacturing Day virtually, with more than 2,000 student registrants from around the country joining an interactive digital event.
National Manufacturing Day is an annual celebration of the manufacturing industry organised by the National Association of Manufacturers.
This year was the first year Raymond's Manufacturing Day was an entirely digital event, enabling students to discover what advanced manufacturing operations really look like via a virtual experience. The event included a virtual factory tour, interactive quizzes, associate testimonials and department demonstrations. The future workforce also heard from Raymond executives.
As manufacturers seek to fill 4.6 million skilled high-tech jobs over the next decade, participating in Manufacturing Day events allows companies to engage students at an age when they are still exploring their interests and deciding what types of careers they want to follow.
