White goods are one of the most demanding cargo commodities requiring specialized lift truck attachments.

Washing machines, refrigerators, LCD displays and ovens are prone to handling damage. These are difficult to handle and have a considerable unit value. Furthermore the transport chain of white products is often very long and it is essential to use well-chosen, well-maintained dedicated equipment to handle them.

Automated Clamping Pressure Control

Bolzoni Auramo has come up with an outstanding proposal of integrated Laser Sensors Solutions for the automatic clamping pressure control reducing to zero the responsibility of truck drivers for wrong handling and squeezing. "The amazing fact is however that nowadays, thanks to the new technology, it's possible to do this granting the same ease of use of a conventional clamp," says Vittorio Lucchini, Carton Clamps and White Goods Logistic Product Specialist of the Bolzoni Group.

The Easy-Move Intelligent System uses laser sensors installed in a fully protected position on board of the clamp. The system is driven by the number and dimensions of the unit loads (boxes) between the arms. Through these inputs the correct clamping pressure is set by means of a proportional pressure relief valve.

The micro-control can be connected via USB to Bolzoni configuration tablet and through an easy procedure (touchscreen based) the operator can adjust the handling and load parameters, recalibrate the sensors if necessary, associate the opening ranges to the required pressure levels and possibly recalibrate them in case of introduction of new loading scheme.

"It is also possible to switch to single pressure manual mode," adds Lucchini. "Easy MOVE is the perfect attachment for 3PLs. In facts, this system does not require any additional competence and knowledge from truck driver."

New Option: Tablet

As standard, all clamps are ex factory preset with load and pressure parameters agreed with the customer.

The clamping load configuration has changed? You can update load parameters with the tablet, available as option.

In case load parameters have to be updated, because of load dimension or configuation changes, the end user and the truck dealer have two possibilities:

• to exploit expertise and capability of Bolzoni Auramo Meyer personnel to make final adjustments and/or future modifications on pressure parameters on site,


• or to become completely independent and autonomous for clamp set up change with a dedicated Bolzoni Auramo tablet.

With a dedicated tablet, supplied by Bolzoni Auramo, the end user can adjust pressure parameters through an user friendly interface: adjust opening range, pressure values, to calibrate sensors and to set the clamp in manual mode.

The Easy-MOVE USP

"It's easy to list the system USP," says Vittorio Lucchini. "First of all, opposite to other competitors' systems, no responsibility is left to the truck driver. For them it's like driving with a completely conventional clamp, with no need of additional knowledge.

"Second, the clamp always works at maximum speed until 5 cm from the load. With Easy-MOVE you don't have the typical waiting time of intelligent clamps while reading the load configurations."

As a third point Vittorio Lucchini mentions the minimum maintenance requirements, which are down to the bone: "To regularly clean the sensor lens, with a dry and soft rag. Sensors are placed in a protected area (not on the pads), therefore these are never prone to damage."
