A new invention from Transmon Engineering means fleet managers can now access vital fleet data from anywhere in the world.

Transmon has refined its Advanced Truck Management System (ATMS) to include GSM or RF options, which means users can access information on forklift use, performance or damage through their computer or mobile phone.

The two-way system allows the user to dial into the system or receive data at regular intervals.

Transmon national accounts manager Paul Sercombe said the system allowed "incredible" control over a fleet.

"Getting the fleet operating at its peak performance means whole-life costs are reduced, as are service costs. Site safety gains tremendously from speed limiting, driver access and crash detection features," he said.

Crash detection monitors a 4G impact, allowing greater accountability and traceability of major incidents while engine performance is regulated through oil pressure and coolant temperature monitoring, direction inhibitor and anti hi-rev take, together with other key sensors.

"With more fleet deals becoming pan-European in nature, it makes sense to offer a highly adaptable system that can be accessed from anywhere," Mr Sercombe said.
