Cat Lift Trucks and Equipment Depot, a Cat dealer, have joined forces to donate a 1.3-tonne internal combustion pneumatic tyre forklift and a year's free maintenance to the American Red Cross.

The Red Cross's Disaster Computer Maintenance Centre (DCMC) contacted editors of trade publications requesting a forklift to move computer and communications equipment it deploys to disaster areas. Cat responded.

Cat was pleased to donate the forklift and support the Red Cross, said Cat sales and dealer development vice-president Jack Sipola. "This is one way we can partner with our dealers to give back to the community," he said. Under the agreement, Cat supplied the forklift, and Equipment Depot will donate the maintenance.
