Union Court, an authorised Caterpillar Lift Trucks dealer, has struck a five-year forklift contract with British Salt Ltd of Middlewich, a subsidiary of US Salt Holdings.

Six two-tonne capacity K-series forklifts have been supplied so far, in a full-maintenance deal worth more than EUR306,000 (USD275,000) for Union Court. Salt's future requirements are unknown.

Union Court spokesman Jeff Page said the dealer won the contract through a tender process from "some very tough competition". The forklifts featured unique Caterpillar anti-corrosion technology, he said.
