Cargotec has won an order for eight reach stackers from Hamburger Container-und-Chassis-Reparatur GmbH (HCCR), the largest empty container-handling operation in Germany.
A subsidiary of Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG, Hamburg-based HCCR bought the eight DRF100-54S6 machines as part of a 12-machine deal, which includes three Kalmar DCF100-45E7 empty container handlers and one Kalmar DCF200-12CS forklift.
The new models will join the world's largest Kalmar empty container-handling reach stacker fleet at HCCR. The machines are slated for delivery in the third quarter of 2012.
Cargotec vice president, reach stackers and empty container handlers, Mikael Persson says the firm is delighted to strengthen the partnership with one of its largest customers.
"We were selected based on several criteria; not only for the high performance of the equipment, meeting the latest environmental legislation, but also for the ongoing support that Cargotec provides. HCCR believes we offer the greatest total solution of any manufacturer, both on paper and in practice, as proven over our excellent 18-year relationship."
Kalmar reach stackers are fitted with the latest EU Stage IIIB / EPA Tier 4i emissions-compliant Volvo diesel engines which use Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology to deliver near-zero nitrogen oxides and harmful particulate emissions.
Cargotec has also secured a contract from port operator Seehafen Wismar GmbH to supply nine Kalmar forklifts to the Port of Wismar in Germany. The order, which includes six models from Kalmar's "G" Generation counterbalance range, is scheduled for delivery in October 2012.
The value of the orders is confidential.
