BSL Battery has established its presence in JapanLithium-ion battery manufacturer for the materials handling sector, Guangdong-headquartered BSL Battery (BSLBatt), has established its presence in Japan with the opening of BSL Battery Japan.
The company will be headquartered in Tokyo and has established warehouses in Tokyo and Osaka.
BSLBatt says the opening of its site in Japan “marks a pivotal milestone in our global strategy and reinforces our commitment to the Japanese and East Asian markets”.
BSLBatt explains Japan was selected for expansion because of its support for a 2050 carbon neutrality goal and the growing demand for lithium-ion solutions within the country’s manufacturing and logistics sectors.
BSLBatt Japan will offer sales and technical support, customised product development and after-sales service.
It will sell Japanese-certified, lithium-ion batteries for forklifts, electrification systems for AGV and AMR automated logistics systems as well as industrial and commercial energy storage.
This follows news this week that BSLBatt has successfully implemented a lithium-ion battery solution for the forklift fleet at the Eastern European warehouse of the bottling partners of the Coca-Cola Company.
The solution saw 68 lead-acid battery powered forklifts upgraded with fast-charging, lithium-ion battery technology.
“We believe that the continuous development of lithium battery technology and the decline in costs, [means] more and more companies will choose lithium batteries as the source of power for forklifts in the future,” BSLBatt states.
