MeVEA adopts new technology
Lappeenranta, FinlandMeVEA Ltd has delivered the first crane simulator for educational purposes in Finland. The simulator was made in consultation with the customer, Forssa Finland Adult Education Centre (Faktia), to support its trainee and operator education programs.
MeVEA's Tero Eskola says new technology, like 3D screens, has been adopted for the project. "Moving from projectors to high definition screens have been steps we've taken ... this will open doors in other educational centres and encourage them to use simulators in operator training."
Toyota gives veterans a lift
Irvine, CA, United States Toyota Material Handling USA Inc (TMHU) has committed USD25,000 to a program that offers discounted forklift operator safety training for war veterans and is available through its dealers.
The Giving Veterans a Lift program will assist Iraq and Afghanistan war veterans who face a 15.2% unemployment rate, says TMHU president Brett Wood.

FEM issues new guideline
Brussels, BelgiumFEM's industrial trucks product group has published a guideline on marking. It deals with the non-compliance of industrial trucks with regards to the marking of machinery, documents and instructions according to directives 2006/42/EC, 2000/14/EC and 2004/108 EC.
