MEP visits Haulotte
Brussels, Belgium Member of the European Parliament (MEP) Françoise Grossetête recently visited French manufacturer Haulotte Group, located in her constituency in L'Horme. She was the third MEP to visit a local manufacturer organised by FEM as part of its Mapping Initiative.
Grossetête heard from her Haulotte hosts about the practical impact of technical regulatory requirements on their R&D. This was notably highlighted in demonstrating the evolution of engines and their components in the different stages imposed by the legislation on exhaust emissions from non-road mobile machinery. Each stage posed an increasing R&D challenge to incorporate the engine in the machine.
"European legislation should not punish companies but should encourage them to innovate whilst preserving their competitiveness. Thanks to this visit, I could see the concrete impact of texts discussed in Brussels and this will help me in my daily parliamentary work," Grossetête commented.
