Cyngn's DriveMod tugger now has outdoor capabilitiesAutonomous vehicle technology provider Cyngn has extended the capabilities of its AI-powered autonomous DriveMod tugger allowing it to now be used both indoors and outdoors.
The DriveMod-enabled tugger has a capacity of 10,000 lb. (4.5 T) and uses proprietary AI to detect and analyse pallet dimensions and stack multiple units autonomously.
Cyngn chief executive officer Lior Tal explains adapting the DriveMod tugger to outdoor functionality was a direct result of customer feedback around transporting goods between indoor and outdoor spaces.
“Businesses are asking for more than just indoor efficiency,” Tal says. “As a result, this marks a major milestone in broadening our reach and catering to the diverse needs of customers.
“The future of automation isn’t just about optimising indoor spaces; it’s about creating smarter, more flexible solutions that cater to the full spectrum of operational environments.”
Cyngn announced in 2023 it would adapt its DriveMod technology to produce autonomous electric forklifts.
