The patent application is related to its Cyngn's autonomous vehicle technologies
Autonomous forklift producer Cyngn has received a notice of allowance for a patent related to its AI-powered autonomous vehicle technologies.
A notice of allowance is part of the standard patent application process. This latest milestone follows the granting of the company’s 22nd patent in April.
According to the company, the patent, “Modular Sensor System for Automated Guided Vehicles”, introduces a modular sensor system that is configured to be coupled to existing industrial machines while making few, if any, modifications to the industrial machine.
The significance of this patent lies in the adjustability of the modular sensor system that may be used with different industrial machines having varied geometries and/or operation constraints.
“By securing IP in key areas like perception, navigation, and mapping over the past few years, we’ve built a strong technical foundation,” says Lior Tal, CEO of Cyngn.
“Innovation and IP protection go hand in hand as we scale our Drivemod solution, and these patents enable long-term technological and commercial differentiation.”
The receipt by Cyngn of the notice of allowance follows the news, in January this year, that it had secured USD33 million in funding to accelerate its growth.
