The Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) predicts growth in global construction markets will slow in 2007. Sales for the lifting equipment category are expected to gain 32 per cent by end of 2006 for the US, 28.5 per cent for Canada and 13.8 per cent for other world markets. If I hear one more person squawk about use of seatbelts by forklift operators I’m going to scream. It has been more than 20 years since major manufacturers began outfitting units with seatbelts and more than 10 since the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) made it standard for manufacturers to supply them and users to use them.
