*also check the brake switch on the other side of the drive unit, might need adjusted

check the wire hardness down near the drive wheel. they tend to drag on the floor and rub through. it runs down the handle, near the drive tire and into the contactor panel

Thanks again for the help. Cleaning the contactors did the trick! The unit still has an intermittent problem where reverse will drop out depending on the position of the handle so I think the control cabling is damaged. Wondering if anyone makes a replacement cable or would I have to repair the one in there?

Thanks for the help gentlemen, I will check it out. There was a lot of debris on the inside of the unit. Mostly soap shavings which could have dirtied up the contactors(s). I will clean them all. I do not hear a contactor pull in when switching to reverse. Plan on working on it tomorrow (Monday, 1/22) and will let you know my findings.

Yes, start with the contractor. If you hear it click, but no travel, it's either the tips are burnes...or debris keeping it from fully closing. No click, check the switch.

OK, So when trying to operate the unit in reverse do you hear the reverse contactor pick up? I would start there. You have to establish if there is a problem in the control circuit or power circuit. If you have no contactor pick up, it could very well be your reverse switch in the control handle.
