What am I looking at im these pics?

I bought a Komatsu forklift at auction but it didn't have any documentation. Please let me know what is the function of each of these parts. Underneath the right side of the foot step is wiring and a metal strip, second, on the steering column is an "L" shaped connector! What are these items?

Thanks Scott, my profile pic show the "L" connector on the steering column. Any idea of what is used for?
