The ED2-Skidweigh System is not approved as "Legal for Trade". This is check weighing system, +/- 1% of forklift lifting capacity. System is used in many LTL operations. I do not know how many "Typical LTL operators visit this site" in order to get your response. Try companies as QuikX Transportations Inc. Midland Transport Ltd. and so on. They will be able to tell you more about the system application, realability, etc.
Is the SkidWeigh Systems ED2 approved as a legal for trade device?
As I side note, I began this discussion looking for end user feedback, however I have received nothing but manufacturers' comments. Would forklift scale users please respond.
And there are the SkidWeigh Systems. The ED2-Series forklift onboard check weighing system which is simple, economical, no maintenance, one unit can be installed on any forklift regardless of the make, model, lifting capacity or operating voltage.
Ravas has an European approved system (OIML III) which is very sturdy and over 1500 units sold!!
Ravas has dealers world wide for local back-up !! see: - ravas-dot-com
Only if you sell goods by the KG then you have to have a 'legal for trade' system

Hi thomas r
would highly recommend Timotex Superweigh in the UK
Do a search for web site as this furum will delete URL.
speak to Lesley Ward.
have used this equipment on numerous occasions, particularly where sell by weight is required, it is also available with small printer to print tickets.
Let me know if you need any more info
jacob, thanks for the reply. I failed to mention that the weighing equipment is being used to recalculate freight charges, and therefore needs to be legal for trade (approved).
You can use hydraulic based system with an average accuracy of 1.. 2% The reading of the weight takes some time....
More accurate 0,1% !!! you get with weighing forks - that is a scale with an integrated weighing system ( 4 load cells ) which give you instand weight info !!! Also very popular for dosing applications.
Good question thomas r, thank you. I am sure there will be users who can give you feedback on their experiences, also tech people who can give you leads to reliable solutions. Note in recent newsletter #160 Ravas advertised their products. Also in the meantime have a look at the
Business Directory.
Do a quick search for the word "weigh" in either "Parts, Components, Accessories - New & Used" or "New Equipment Dealers" categories and you will find a lot of suppliers around the world.
