With modern assistance systems - integrated into the forks - VETTER Forks Inc. sets new standards in the logistics industry and makes the fork fit for a digital future. A clever combination of innovative technology and intuitive operation uses cameras, sensors, lasers and LEDs to make the work of forklift drivers not only safer and more efficient, but also more ergonomic.
The forklift driver carefully maneuvers the forklift through a tightly filled warehouse. He is under time pressure. Visibility is limited, the load obscures the view and yet every fork movement must be precise to avoid accidents and damage to the goods.
Intelligent forks are a real relief in this situation: the SmartFork assistance systems from VETTER Forks Inc. support the forklift driver and help to make the transportation of goods safer and more efficient. Thanks to the sophisticated, intelligent systems, the SmartForks are fit for the future of warehouse logistics.
Clear view of and in front of the load
The camera systems integrated into the forks are useful assistance systems that make goods handling easier and safer for forklift truck drivers. You can choose between SmartFork FrontCam, SmartFork SideCam and SmartFork PremiumCam, the latter of which combines the two previously mentioned systems.
The SmartFork FrontCam acts almost like a third eye, giving the driver a view of the area in front of the load. Integrated into the fork tip, which is only 25 mm thick, the small, robust camera provides a clear view, even if the human field of vision is blocked by the load.
Thus supported, obstacles and people can be safely identified even when fully loaded. An inclination indicator for the forks supports retraction and safe loading by facilitating exact positioning.
The SmartFork SideCam, on the other hand, is partially integrated on the inside of one fork blade, which enables the driver to look along both forks on a monitor. This makes it much easier to aim at the entry pockets of the pallets so that the load can be picked up safely.
The camera systems are industry-proof, and the integrated installation of both, camera and cabling protect against damage caused by external influences such as impacts. The camera images are transmitted via WiFi or mast cable to the industrial monitor in the truck’s cab.
Precise entry
The EasySecure function detects the depth of entry into pallets or load carriers.
The light sensor integrated on top of the fork blade (at 800 mm from the fork tip) allows a reliable detection of Euro pallets stored lengthways or crossways when picking up goods. EasySecure can be individually adapted to up to three load carriers.
The light sensor on the fork tip-version is used to prevent damage or lifting of the pallet behind.
This information is of great value to the forklift driver, especially in block warehouses, to avoid damage to the load and racking systems.
Laser and LED for optimized safety
The SmartFork laser ensures precision at any height. The laser integrated in the fork tip makes it easier to aim at the load, especially in high racks. Combined with the SmartFork FrontCam, the laser line can be displayed on the monitor in the driver's cab. This allows the forklift driver to keep an eye on entry pockets and transported goods at all times.
The SmartFork Flash assistance system not only ensures better control of the entry depth, but also greater safety. The flashing LEDs on the sides of the forks make lifting devices and forklift trucks visible from afar, even in dark areas. They can indicate the permitted entry depth thus help to pick up load carriers safely. The LED strips are available in lengths from 335 mm to 1870 mm.
Individual SmartFork solutions
Each application requires individual solutions. VETTER has an entire modular system with different sensors available that optimize a SmartFork specifically for the task at hand.
Making the forklift driver's life easier and safer in tough everyday logistics - SmartFork is the sixth sense for forklift drivers.
